Lauded singer/songwriter, Ray LaMontagne is set to release his much-anticipated third album, Gossip In The Grain, on October 14th on RCA Records.

Ray Lamontagne, with his acclaimed vocal presence and lyrical touch, is still on top of his game with Gossip in the Grain. And while ‘Meg White’ – though undeniably fun – doesn’t seem to fit with the record, one bad apple doesn’t spoil the bunch. Opening for Ray LaMontagne at the Wiltern last Thursday, Naess had the difficult task of playing to his rabid audience. She was clearly a relative unknown to most of them; as the house lights came down and she took the stage, there were more naked seats than full in the room. Slowly but surely, however, she charmed the growing crowd… The cult of LaMontagne, slightly revealed Ray LaMontagne has been a mostly word-of-mouth phenomenon, due to the low-key nature of his music and his own notorious shyness. That may change with the raspy-voiced New England troubadour’s fine third album. Although most of its songs are typically stark, introspective and autumnal in theme, there are a few rowdy exceptions – including a chugging A review of Ray LaMontagne’s concert at L.A.’s Wiltern Theatre on Thursday, October 30, 2008. This is a SOLID album review of Ray Lamontagne. The album being reviewed was Gossip In The Grain. This is such a quality CD to begin with and this student station did a review on it.
